John R. Malmo is a recognized Grand Master and proud promoter of the martial arts. He currently holds an 8th Degree Black Belt in Kombatan under GGM Ernesto A. Presas and serves as the Chief Instructor of the Midwest for the International Philppine Martial Arts Federation. He is a recognized Guru in Kuntao Silat de Thouars and holds the title of Chuan Su Shih Shifu in Hakka Southern Fist Style under Uncle Willem de Thouars. In addition, GM Malmo holds black belts and instructor certifications in several other Southeast Asian systems stemming primarily from the Philippines, Indonesia, China, and Thailand.
Grand Master Malmo is also the founder of Ogichidaakana; a comprehensive collection of his training and the presentation of the fighting arts indigenous to the Native American or First Nations people - specifically the Anishinaabe. GM Malmo serves in a number of capacities that strive to propagate the martial arts. He is most well known for being the owner and founder of MyFMA.net - Filipino Martial Arts Network which works to unite everyone involved with or interested in the Filipino martial arts in a social network environment. This network is represented by most of the world's best known Grand Masters and Masters of the FMA.
GM Malmo offers group classes in Bentonville and Fayetteville, Arkansas. He also offers private instruction throughout Northwest Arkansas and is available for seminars or workshops world wide.
